To add a little extra special flavor to a plain vanilla or yellow cake mix, use the liquid from any canned fruit that is packed in water instead of the plain water called for when making the mix. Most every variety of canned fruit around comes packed in syrup or water. Choose a water-packed can of fruit your family loves to make a plain cake extra tasty. Frost the cake using vanilla or butter cream and add the fruit chunks as decoration on top.

Make sure that you let cookies cool down completely – at least 15 minutes – before removing them from the cookie sheet. Otherwise, they are more likely to stick to the sheet and break apart. Also, by eating them while they are still hot, you could possibly burn your mouth.

Banapple: Not Your Ordinary Dessert Haven

Banapple certainly isn’t home to JUST heavenly dessert but to sumptuous entrees that will surely leave your tummy filled. With the prices going up here and there, a lot of Filipino families want to get the bang for their buck when it comes to dining. After a merry lunch with my friends at Banapple Greenhills, I thought it was a great place to bring my family on a weekend for a chillax lunch date. The prices range from P120-P195 for salads, sandwiches, entrees and desserts. Their smoothies are priced at P105 which tastes better than the other smoothies served on other similar bakery cafe I went to.

>Alex III Resto-Grille Review

>

Where: Alex III Resto-Grille
2nd Level, Robinsons Galleria
EDSA cor. Ortigas Ave.
Pasig, Metro Manila, Philippines

Today’s Sunday after church lunch was at ALEX III Resto-Grille at Robinson’s Galleria. This was not our first time to eat there but we normally eat there as a group so we order their Group Set meals ranging from P1,500 to P3,000 depending on the number of persons we are in a group. The food is heavenly and the staff is well trained and very accommodating. They almost anticipate your needs! Did you know that cleanliness is one of the owner’s golden rule? Perfect for an OC Mom like myself.

Anyway, for lunch we tried their SET meals which costs P189! I didn’t expect the serving to be so generous that so I ended up so full! Their P189 set menu is usually composed of Rice, Pancit canton (not your ordinary MSG filled canton), iced tea and then the viands. Example of their P189 set meal:

A. Rice, Pork barbecue, 2 shanghai rolls (can I say FAT shanghai rolls?), pancit canton, soup and iced tea

B. Rice, (hug) Boneless chicken barbecue, pancit canton, soup and iced tea

They have sets until SET D so lotsa choices for everyone!

I tell you, this is better than eating on food court— way, way better. I don’t think I will eat on Robinsons Galleria’s food court ever again- it’s a waste of money!

At Alex III, we also ordered puto bumbong 4pcs for P69. It’s not bad actually, as long as you eat it as soon as served because when it cools, it’s bubble gummy. Even Peaches liked it!

I’m really happy we ate at Alex III today. It was so filling and yes very clean! I am now a fan.

Visit their website for other information (they do catering and packed lunch too!)
